Work Is The Curse Of The Drinking Classes was written by actor, playwright, and independent scholar Neil Titley in 1978. For the next 27 years, Mr. Titley performed the play over 700 times on 4 continents under a bewildering array of conditions, many accounts of which are to be published in his own theatrical memoirs: ‘Round The World With Oscar Wilde (in preparation).

As Mr. Titley’s interest and wide readings in Wildeana continued, he collected, wrote, and published the magisterial, 500+ page, The Oscar Wilde World of Gossip: A Subversive Encyclopaedia of Victorian Anecdote.  Copies may be obtained from the author:
